Description:
Upstairs music is provided by The Heavenly Jukebox, a public-controlled jukebox with a specially picked selection of records by some of the country's most prominent musicians and artists. The kitchen aims to provide
an alternative to London's uber-trendy gastro-pubs - an eating out version of 'home cooking'.
The downstairs bar is set up for small scale acoustic gigs, DJ sets & film screenings. Club nights held since it's launch have featured DJ sets from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Andrew Weatherall, The Avalanches & The Psychonauts. Acoustically Beth Orton, Horace Andy, Starsailor, Super Furry
Animals, The Doves and Badly Drawn Boy have experienced the intimacy of a 200 capacity gig.
Experience:
The concept behind The Social combines the very best
elements of bars in cities across the world; the emphasis is on quality music and sociable drinking. Incorporating the relaxed familiarity of a local pub, the bar offers an extensive choice of alcoholic beverages. The Social is divided into two bar areas - a snug ground floor bar and a spacious lower ground bar.
